The Peddler’s Tale

The Peddler’s Tale

In Extremis Theater Company

A mysterious rendering of the classical concept of the fairy tale, ‘The Peddler’s Tale’ deals with topics as diverse as homosexuality and incest, with a love spoon thrown in for good measure. Moments of the play were highly enjoyable with brief stints of good acting and a number of glimpses of comedy, but these were inconsistent and were undermined by stumbled lines. The story appeared a little jumbled and confused, whilst the ending was arguably incongruous, with a twist that seemed out of place. This combined with a generally unpolished performance, means that despite good intentions just rewards cannot be given. A play that has potential, which isn’t being met yet.
